North Wyong Recycling (NSW)

The Client

North Wyong Recycling Services is an EPA licenced waste facility, based in the Central Coast of NSW.

The company sorts waste thoroughly by hand, separating bricks, concrete, green waste and steel for recycling to reduce landfill.

The waste they process includes construction and demolition waste, concrete, bricks and garden waste.

The Challenge

North Wyong Recycling required a more effective solution to control dust and debris across their site.

ASC’s Greg Pedelty was asked to provide a more permanent and sustainable solution for their sites sweeping and housekeeping regime.

Prior to Greg’s consultation, NWR (North Wyong Recycling ) relied on a bobcat with a broom attachment. This created excessive airborne dust, causing visibility and cleanliness issues.

NWR’s key requirement was the ability to properly sweep and maintain their entrance and exit driveways, ensuring a cleaner and safer access point for inbound vehicles.

Operations Manager, Gerry Costter was the man in charge of improving the site’s housekeeping operations.

Gerry had asked for both the ASC M6 and an ASC M8 sweeper to be brought to his site as demonstrators.

They wanted to test the effectiveness of both machines.

Both machines performed and swept well.

Gerry, however, chose the larger ASC M8 sweeper.

The M8 is widely used by waste facilities around Australia, which Gerry was aware of.

The key to his decision was the unique design features specifically inbuilt into the ASC M8, targeted to the waste sector.

Combined, these features ensured greater productivity and higher sweeping performance per hour used.

The Result

NWR ordered an ASC M8 diesel powered sweeper, with an enclosed air-conditioned cabin.

ASC’s Greg Pedelty organised the delivery and site installation.

Greg trained the site’s operators, while ASC Workshop Manager, Albert Vassallo, trained the site’s mechanical crew on how to service the machine in house.

The M8 has now become an essential asset for the group, in maintaining a cleaner, safer and more efficient facility.
