Ports & Shipping

CBH Group in Geraldton is one of Australia’s leading grain exporters, shipping grain from Port Geraldton to markets around the world. The organisation plays a major role in Western Australia’s grain supply chain, exporting large volumes of wheat, barley, canola and other crops internationally.

The Challenge

CBH was experiencing reliability issues with their existing sweeper, which was frequently breaking down and affecting operational efficiency within the port facility.

The machine they had on site was environmentally unfriendly, as it blew a lot of dust while sweeping. In addition, parts were few and far between, which led to too much downtime

The Result

To address these issues, CBH evaluated several machines before selecting the ASC M8 sweeper as a more reliable solution.

The M8 was chosen for several key reasons:

  •  Advanced filtration system, improving dust control in the grain export environment
  • Larger hopper capacity, allowing longer operating time between emptying
  • Clear operator visibility, enabling operators to clearly see curbs and obstacles in front of the machine
  • Ease of maintenance, reducing downtime and simplifying servicing

There are now several ASC M8 machines operating in the Geraldton area, and the ASC M8 was highly recommended to CBH based on the strong performance and reliability of existing units in the region.

ASC’s Greg Pedelty commissioned the new sweeper at the Port Terminal
